Some readers have quite rightly asked what the QURA is. The answer is the association above, run out of the University of Queensland and populated by grown men, probably of the sort that at the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Abuse referred to themselves and their contemporaries as ‘boys’.
One thing of note is that you clearly don’t have to die in action to make the QURA honour roll, for I don’t recall the one-time Governor of Queensland Wally Campbell ever dying in any goddamn war. In fact, you’d guess not too many of these Officer and a a Gentleman types would ever get within a country mile of the front lines, wouldn’t you?
