The seed doesn’t fall far from the tree does it?

As we are about to reveal, the Queensland Racing Minister Ignazia ‘Grace’ Grace, the niece of well-known Brisbane gangsters Geraldo ‘Gerry’ Bellino and Antonio ‘Tony’ Bellino, has this week proven the truth of the dictum beyond any reasonable doubt.

Grace Grace is an absolute disgrace, a scab on the union movement, a dishonest politician, a nepotist, and a person who has no rightful place in the public governance and administration of our great Pineapple State.

Harsh words?

Yes indeed.

Justifiably harsh words?

Here’s why.

Last Saturday, the 2nd of April, while punters were busy studying the form guide and getting ready to punt like demons on the afternoon’s races, Grace Grace’s office slipped out a media release that they hoped no-one would see announcing the Interim appointments to the board of Racing Queensland, the body that administers and runs thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing in the Pineapple State.

The thoroughbred industry representative appointed to the board was the racist, islamophobe former driving school proprietor Jim Rundle, a man with no qualifications to hold such an important post and no right to have been appointed.

We’ve dealt with Rundle, and he can keep bleating on about dirt digging and muck raking until the Rockhampton cows come home, but the fact is that every man is responsible for their own actions, and he hoist himself on his own petard. So bleat all you like Jim Boy, but you can go and kiss this Bunger boy’s arse.

Rundle was a minnow however, and the minor scandal about his 24 hour rise and demise doesn’t hold a candle to the wholesale tale of greed, nepotism and corruption that I am about to explain to you.

But before I do I wish to make something very clear, and place an incontrovertible fact upon the table.

I know Grace Grace, the Queensland Racing Minister, and shared a table with her in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s when I held ex-officio roles on the Executive Committees of the Queensland Council of Unions and the Queensland Labor Party.

I also broke bread often with Ms Grace in my then elected role as an Executive Member of the Labor Unity Faction of the Qld Labor Party, at a table we also shared with Qld Education Minister Kate ‘Keep Me!’ Jones, former Qld Treasurer Andrew ‘the Wonder Boy’ Fraser, corrupt former union official David ‘The Dog’ Hanna, much hated Prime Minister and wannabe UN General Secretary Kevin ‘the Rat’ Rudd, and my old mate turned adversary the venal lobbyist Damian ‘The Branch Stacker’ Power.

Let me place on the record that despite my record of attacking most of the individuals on the above list, I have no axe to grind whatsoever with Grace Grace, and to be frank have hitherto regarded her as someone that I would happily share a pink lemonade with down at the Geebung RSL any day of the week.

In fact, when I moved to New Zealand in 2003 to escape the stress of the St pPaul’s child abuse cases, and to take up a senior role with the largest trade union, Grace Grace was the primary referee on my Curriculum Vitae. She was also a referee on my wife the Bead Twirler’s. So you can be assured that the revelations that I am about to make to you are not driven in any way, shape of form by any sort of personal dispute, dislike or feud.

No, they are driven by the absolute hatred I have for cronyism, nepotism and corruption, and my belief that union officials should be humanists untainted by greed, and Labor politicians true to the cause that my ancestors shed blood, sweat, toil, tears, and ultimately their lives for.

It is all about keeping the bastards honest, and the Pineapple State pure.

And tell me that there’s anything wrong with that.
