The email reproduced below was sent out on the 1st of April to those who had expressed an interest in addressing the parlous state of the racing industry in Queensland by volunteering their services as a member of the All Codes Racing Board.

We can only assume that it wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.

Dear XXXX

A quick email to update you on the progress of your application for the Queensland Racing Board position. After recent contact with the Department of National Parks, Sport and Racing we regret to advise that unfortunately there is no further progress to report at this stage.

We apologise for the delay in this process and will update you as soon as further information comes to light.
