Bloody Barry Mad Baz Taylor’s gone and snared the Coolmore!

Mad Baz – the founder of leading North Queensland law firm Emanate Legal and at one time or another a Director of every damn thing including Racing Qld, the NQ Racing Association, the Cowboys, the Suns, the Crocs and more – is a part owner of Merchant Navy, the colt who just landed the chocolates in the blue riband Group 1 sprint for three-year-old down the straight at Flemington, and won’t he be bloody happy about it too!

In fact he’s just firmed to evens to shout a round of drinks, the shortest price he’s been since his mates slipped a mickey into into his pot way back in ’84.

This may just be the start of the most magnificent day that any horse owner ever dreamed about too, because Mad Baz’s got a live chance going in the Derby in a couple of hours too.

Ocean’s Eleven is its name, number 11 ridden by Luke Nolen.

They’ll be doing the chicken dance up in Townsville for a month if Mad Baz lands the big double. You can get ten’s ($11) about his horse on fixed price right now, and the way Mad Baz’s luck’s running a man’d have to be gaga not to get on.

I’m off to the TAB. Seeya!
